My interest in photography and graphic design started when I was a teenager in Maniitsoq. I had a Film Camera that I used diligently to document what was happening around me. I also designed my own CD covers for techno music that I composed myself, as well as posters and websites.

My name is Aqqalu Augustussen. I was born and raised in Maniitsoq and now live in Nuuk with my wife and our two children.

Before becoming a media graphic designer, I worked as a school teacher and used my bachelor’s degree for five years. However, I decided to pursue my other big interest, which I had had since my teenage years, and started the media graphics education in Aarhus with an internship in Nuuk. The education lasted 4 ½ years.

Since 2020, I have been employed as a graduate media graphic designer at Kalaallit Nunaanni Brugseni.

However, my operation of Tappiut Design Studio takes place outside of my working hours at Kalaallit Nunaanni Brugseni.

As a media graphic designer, I am passionate about photography, graphic design and video production. For me, it is important to continuously update my knowledge and technical skills. That’s why I attended Adobe Max in both 2023 and 2024, where I spent three days at the conference with many courses. The first time was in Los Angeles and the second time in Miami.
