That same morning, it was confirmed that, in collaboration with Brugseni, we were to film the famous Danish chef Casper Sobczyk preparing four dishes.<\/p>\n<p>Casper Sobczyk had traveled to Nuuk to participate in Brugseni&#8217;s &#8220;Unnuk Mamarsaaffik&#8221; (Gourmet Evening) event. Before his arrival, we had received hints that we might film him if possible, but neither the day nor the time had been finalized. The objective was to produce videos for Brugseni\u2019s website and Facebook page to serve as inspiration for their customers.<\/p>\n<p>Leading up to the event, Casper tasted various Greenlandic ingredients alongside my colleague. He selected different types of local meat for the cooking session, and from there, he began developing four different recipes.<\/p>\n<p>Once the gourmet evening concluded, we were still somewhat uncertain about the next steps. Although we had heard we could film Casper that day, the location had not been confirmed. We were informed that Brugseni\u2019s own kitchen was occupied, so we had to find a filming location ourselves. First, we asked to borrow the staff kitchen, but we were turned down. We then tried to quickly set up a kitchen in Brugseni\u2019s photo studio, but we soon realized it wasn&#8217;t suitable for actual cooking. Since Casper was scheduled to depart the following day, this was our only chance to film.<\/p>\n<p>In the middle of the scramble, I remembered <b>Brugseni Natalie<\/b>\u2014a new store with plenty of space. I thought we might be able to set up a small kitchen area inside the store near the butchery department and film him there. I grabbed the phone and called the store manager, but there was no answer. Once the setup was ready, we rigged the filming equipment: cameras, lights, microphones, and set partitions.<\/p>\n<p>We used two cameras for the shoot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Main Camera:<\/b> A <b>Canon R5<\/b> filming in <b>4K<\/b> using <b>C-log<\/b>, mounted stationary on a tripod.<\/li>\n<li><b>Second Camera:<\/b> A <b>Nikon Z50ii<\/b> filming in <b>1080p<\/b> using <b>N-log<\/b>. I operated this one myself to get close-up shots of the chef&#8217;s process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When the chef arrived, he was ready to start almost immediately. His assistant quickly prepared the ingredients, and once they were set, we mic\u2019d him up and began recording.<\/p>\n<p>We filmed four videos, each lasting between 3 and 8 minutes, without any technical issues. Time flew by, and suddenly all four videos were &#8220;in the can.&#8221; Since the project\u2014which had started quite hectically\u2014ended so well, we packed up our equipment and returned to work very satisfied.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Editing Process<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Now, however, the next and more time-consuming task awaits: <b>video editing<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>When you watch the videos, you can see how they were produced. At the beginning, I highlight the collaboration between Brugseni and Casper by transitioning their logos using a &#8220;cross-effect.&#8221; The names of the dishes are then displayed in both Greenlandic and Danish.<\/p>\n<p>In the edit, I cut between the two cameras depending on the action. When he says something compelling, I cut to a close-up; when he mixes ingredients, I show the footage from the camera pointing down at the frying pan. I used <b>AI to isolate his voice<\/b> and utilized the ambient background noise and cooking sounds from the second camera. I specifically used AI to remove Casper&#8217;s voice from that second track so the dialogue from the two cameras wouldn&#8217;t overlap or phase. Finally, I added Greenlandic subtitles.<\/p>\n<p>There are four videos in total.
